Matlab data is loaded into basic Python data types. Matrices are stored row-major using lists of lists. Matlab structs and cells are represented using Python dicts.
The package can be run from the command line, in which case, it provides a routine for converting Matlab MAT-files to/from JSON files.
Load data from MAT-file
The function loadmat loads all variables stored in the MAT-file intoa simple Python data structure, using only Python's dict and listobjects. Numeric and cell arrays are converted to row-ordered nested lists. Arrays are squeezed to eliminate arrays with only one element.The resulting data structure is composed of simple types that are compatiblewith the JSON format.

Save Python data structure to a MAT-file

Known limitations
The following Matlab data structures/types are not supported:
- Arrays with more than 2 dimensions
- Arrays with complex numbers
- Sparse arrays
- Function arrays
- Object classes
- Anonymous function classes

This article explains how to import an HTML bookmarks file formatted in the Netscape Bookmarks format.
- To replace your existing bookmarks with a Firefox bookmark backup file in JSON format, see Restoring bookmark backups.
Before proceeding, you should make a backup of your current bookmarks. You can do this by opening the Bookmarks Library window (explained below), then selecting and choosing Backup…. This will create a Firefox bookmark backup file in JSON format.
Click the Library button on your toolbar. (If you don't see it there, click the menu button then click Library.) Click Bookmarks and then click the Show All Bookmarks bar at the bottom.
- From the toolbar on the Library window, click and choose Import Bookmarks from HTML….
- Within the Import Bookmarks File window that opens, navigate to the bookmarks HTML file you are importing and select the file.
- Click the button. The Import Bookmarks File window will close.
- Close the Library window.
The bookmarks in the selected HTML file will be added to your Firefox bookmarks within the Bookmarks Menu directory.
